We're supposed to be more fun than the others. I've just never experienced anything like this before, especially at a gay bar. I certainly hope your staff can take this as constructive feedback. It honestly takes a lot for me to write any reviews, especially negative ones. So just advice, order yourself some beers at this place. I watched them do this upstairs between both bartenders on multiple people's drinks.just to figure out if I was imagining this or not. They were measuring the alcohol(which is NOT the issue), but only putting a ludicrous amount of vodka in. I ordered another drink upstairs (vodka cranberry), and closely watched them make it this time. I bartended for two years and I know when a drink is prepared weak. So, we went to the bar downstairs same exact issue. The taste of alcohol is almost non-existent. Our group is about three drinks in and we notice something about our drinks. I heard three different people complain about it, not including the people in my group. It's horrible placement and you're going to give someone a seizure while they're ordering a drink. Also please move the flashing light cube sitting on the edge of the upstairs bar. I get you guys are trying to prevent fraud, but let's be real, you guys weren't asking anyone else for their IDs during the transaction processes besides mine. There was a point where my sister gave me her card to get us drinks with, and the bartender demanded he'd see my ID, so of course, it didn't match the first name, so I had to go find my sister and come back to purchase the drink, EVEN THOUGH, he had seen me with her all night and our last names matched. In addition to that, if you card doesn't have a chip on it, they won't process it. Your tab HAS to be ten dollars or more, or they won't serve you if you're paying with a card. First off, if you want to use a debit or credit card and are buying one drink and closing out, forget it. We get to the bar and started ordering drinks. So my group of 6 gets up there and there are at least 3 security guards in sight at all times walking around. This was surprisingly disappointing because it was a Saturday night.
They charged us $5.00(if you got there later it's 10.00) to go upstairs for the drag show which was a complete cringe-worthy waste of time and money. I understand with all of the weapon-related threats there have been in the past at bars, but if you're going to perform pat downs on every customer please have someone who at least looks certified to do it. I'd like to know if there are any laws regarding who's allowed to perform a pat-down search because frankly, it was overly done and felt extremely unnecessary and uncomfortable. My sister and I went out with some friends and got there around 10:00.
Last time I was there was probably sometime early last year. I haven't been back to MSR until recently. I made it clear I was not upset at employees doing their job, but that it was very clear they were following illegal orders from management. If challenged, I have video of the whole process tonight with every security guard I encountered.
#GAY BARS ATLANTA JOBS LICENSE#
As an LGBT+ individual I am reluctant to advocate disciplinary action on another gay venue, but I feel that this business should lose its license and should be closed due to customer treatment. So I left.Īs a business owner that supports other small businesses, I have been here twice, and both times I've not only been disappointed, but I've been appalled by the illegal business practices. Not even to go pee on the same level that I already had admittance. I was not allowed to access the rest of the facility (*which I paid for with my show ticket) without being readmitted. I am a business owner and have been self employed for almost 6 years. I personally was holding about 8oz of Jameson whiskey when I was forced onto the street to wait in line to be re-admitted.
#GAY BARS ATLANTA JOBS FULL#
Security told us to wait in line at that point with FULL DRINKS in hand which is illegal because there is not an open-container policy in public. After the first show, security guards forcefully made patrons vacate the premises to the backyard, and once it was full, patrons like myself were forced onto the street. I bought tickets to Crystal Methyd and tonight my experience was fine until the very end.
